CLINICAL APPLICATION

The sample is used for laboratory auxiliary examination of pediatric precocious puberty diseases, and differential diagnosis and exclusion of other diseases, such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

 

Precocious puberty refers to the development of secondary sex characters before the age of 8 in girls/9 in boys

Required Tests:

Luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).

 

Optional Tests According to Patient’s

 Conditions:

Estradiol, testosterone, prolactin, progesterone, OGTT, chemistry panel, cortisol, ACTH, thyroid function, bone age, pelvic ultrasound, pituitary enhanced MRI+.

AFP + β HCG (excluding tumors secreting HCG, such as germ cell tumor; if negative, CSF and imaging examinations should be performed)

Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate + androstenedione + 17α-hydroxyprogesterone + cortisol (excluding adrenal diseases such as CAH tumors)
